Dr Joe Hair has been working with Sleep Physicians since 2008 treating sleep apnea patients who could not tolerate CPAP.Hello, I am Dr. Joe Hair. I have been working with the Sleep Physicians of Metro Atlanta, treating Snoring & Sleep Apnea Patients since 2008, as well as TMJ Patients and, due to recent Neurologic Research, patients with Migraine / Headache pain.  Sleep Resolution LLC was established in March of 2025 to allow me to focus solely on  patients with sleep disturbances.  Let me tell you a little about why I started treating patients who snore and/or have sleep apnea:

Early 2006, my wife asked me to sit down on the side of the bed to talk to me. She looked me in the eye and said she was worried about me. She said I snored, and I snored so very loudly – I had no idea that I snored.

Then she said that I stopped, and she had no idea whether I would start breathing again. WAIT, she said I stopped snoring. No, she said I had stopped breathing. That got my attention, so I did what I always do and dove in headfirst to learn all I could about Snoring and Sleep Apnea, as well as any effects on the TMJ.

  • Loud, chronic snoring – witnessed by my wife.
  • Stop breathing – witnessed by my wife
  • Multiple trips to the bathroom during the night – I rationalized these by saying that I was drinking a lot more water, and if it goes in, it must come out.
  • High Blood Pressure – I was diagnosed with hypertension during this time.
  • Behavioral changes and/or mood swings – I was not pleasant to be around many times.

I knew I would not wear a CPAP (BiPAP or AutoPAP), so an oral appliance was the choice for me. Basically, the appliance supports the lower jaw in a slightly forward, slightly open position to help keep the airway open.

A couple of years later, a young grandmother came to me for treatment. On the day we were delivering her appliance, she confided that she was dreading the upcoming visit of her granddaughter. She was so tired during the day, she could not see how she would be able to keep up with the child. When she came in for her first follow up visit, she seemed very happy and alert. She said that she had been able to do all of the things her granddaughter had wanted to do, and she had energy left at the end of the day. She then took my hand and said,

“Dr Hair, thank you for giving me back my life.”

When she said that to me, I knew I was placed on this Earth to help folks who have sleep problems.

And her solution fits in the palm of her hand.
